So for those that know me, I am a movie fan! I mean, I love everything about movies. How they make you feel, how they inspire, how they offend… everything.

I don’t consider myself your average movie goer either. Yes, I am that person in a crowd of people who just saw the latest blockbuster saying, “A few laughs here and a kickass ending are good, but does the movie really have substance?”

I revel in entertainment as a whole, you know, the real kind that requires talent. I’m talking Philip Seymour Hoffman (RIP) in Capote not Kim Kardashian in nothing. There are some good places to visit on the web if you too are a lover like me. Here are my top five.

Rotten Tomatoes

This is pretty much a go to for me. The critic reviewers are industry folk. They also have a section where little “ole Joes” like myself and give their two cents. They have over 324,000 Facebook followers and 1.2 million twitter fans.

The Hollywood Reporter (THR)

THR is a leader in Hollywood. With 1.2 million Twitter followers and over 979,000 Facebook fans, what they have to say matters. They are not just about reviews of movies and shows, but also give information pertinent to up and coming talent looking to break into the industry and more.

Internet Movie Database (IMDB)

IMDB is more than just a place to see how many movies has Meryl Streep actually done. They have reviews, synopses and other information for people who are just movie goers and for those who are in the movie business. With over 1.3 million Twitter followers they are the go to for all things entertainment related.

TheWrap

This site is a new fave of mine because it gives you breaking news on entertainment from movies to what remake are they doing next. It kind of makes you feel like you have behind the scenes access to what’s going on in Tinseltown. They have 84K followers on Twitter because people look to them to give them news first.

Stage 32

This is an amazing site with so much available for new comers. It has a collaborative community that not only gives you access to the latest in reviews, interviews and industry news, it gives you direct access to other people who are working in entertainment with an opportunity to reach out to them to network. It is a much need platform for movie lovers and those who want to work in movies.

These, to me, are five of the most reputable and popular sites. I like to make sure that what I am getting my information really has a passion for the cinema not just a passion for making things up.
